The Conti Road Attack
has been winning new fans since its launch last year and has proved
to be a truly impressive sports-touring tyre, impressive enough to convince
BMW that their flagship tourer should be on Conti Road Attacks.
BMW have an undoubted reputation for quality concerning their machines
and this quality is expected in all areas of their motorcycle's construction
and performance.
The Conti Road Attack is the perfect compliment to this design philosophy
and is further confirmation of the inherent quality Continental build
into their tyres. Effective immediately, the Conti Road Attack will
be OE equipment on all R1200RTs, and is the first OE contract for the
new radial.
The Road Attack was developed hand in hand with BMW and to achieve the
contract was specifically tailored to the R1200RT performance requirements
and compliments the
R1200RT on every
level, from its formidable grip and sure footed braking capabilities,
to its balance and durability.
The R1200RT Road Attack fitment is designated "C" and will
be supplied as a 120/70 ZR17 (58W) front, and 180/55 ZR17 (73W) rear
sections. The Road Attack has earned an impressive vote of confidence
from BMW who have also extended homologation to fit the tyre to the
R1100S, R1150R and K1200RS models.
Continental is also original equipment supplier to BMW's GS range in
the form of the "world conquering" TKC80 enduro tyre, which
has recently completed an epic journey fitted to the bikes of Charley
Boorman and Ewan Mcgregor in their "Long Way Round" television
project.
